2 Survivors Team Up on Breast Cancer Support Book

Two breast cancer survivors have teamed up to offer “The Definitive Guide to Thriving After Cancer.” Dr. Lise Alschuler is a naturopathic oncologist who beat breast cancer, while co-author Karolyn Gazella is part of the integrative health publishing community and battled a bout of ovarian cancer. The book features the Five to Thrive Plan, which is a holistic approach for dealing with cancer recovery.

“It is very important that our advice is based on strong scientific evidence, and, furthermore, has been validated in my clinical practice,” Alschuler said in a statement.

The five point plan explores dietary supplements, movement, diet, spirit and rejuvenation. The book also overviews inflammation, hormones, insulin sensitivity, the immune system and digestion and detoxification.

The publication is a companion piece to “The Definitive Guide to Cancer.” This book is based on integrative treatment, which focuses on the whole body, mind and spirit.
