Graduating college is something many people hope to accomplish, but sometimes, life gets in the way.
That’s what happened to actor and comedian Anthony Anderson.
The 51-year-old Black-ish star wanted to graduate college, but between finances, work, and family, it never played out for him – until now.
In an exciting announcement on Instagram, Anderson revealed that he finally graduated from college and received his degree, a task that was “30 years in the making.”
Anderson wrote: “‘IT WAS ALL A DREAM!’ Words can’t begin to describe the emotional roller coaster I’m on right now. It’s literally been 30 years in the making. This spring I was finally able to complete the work to graduate from Howard University with a BFA degree from the Chadwick A Boseman College of Fine Arts! Yesterday was a full circle moment.”
He went on to say that “It’s never too late! Things happen when they’re supposed to happen!” It seems things certainly worked out for Anderson when they were meant to!
According to TODAY, Anderson started attending Howard University years earlier when he was younger, but he dropped out due to financial constraints. He only had one year left to graduate, but he just couldn’t make it work at the time.
However, when Anderson’s son, Nathan, began attending the school, it gave Anderson the push he needed to re-enroll and finish his degree.
He was able to work out a flexible schedule with both online and on-campus curricula in order to graduate with his son in 2022. As of just a few days ago, Anderson is officially a college graduate and has been awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree!Whizzco
