4-Year-Old Epically Ruins Her Parent’s Gender Reveal In Viral Video

In 2023, you’d think gender reveals were a thing of the past. Not only does it really not matter what gender a baby is so long as they’re healthy, but gender reveals have gotten so extreme and caused fires, harmed wildlife, and promoted animal cruelty among other things.

While some gender reveals, while still outdated in concept, are simply done with a cake or cute letter, some people are still taking things to the extreme and trying to outdo the last big gender reveal. Things don’t always go as planned, however.

One golden example of this happened to a family in Virginia. Candice Pope Ross (TikTok user @candiceelizabethw) posted video of their attempted gender reveal with the caption: “Welp, that didn’t go as planned.”

In the video, you can see Dad holding a big black balloon filled with colorful confetti – either pink or blue, depending on if the baby is a boy or a girl.

The parents handed their 4-year-old child a pair of scissors to pop the balloon with, but she misunderstood and snipped the string, sending the balloon into the sky.

Both parents screeched as the balloon disappeared out of reach.

Since being posted, the video has been viewed more than 31 million times, with many people taking to the comments to criticize the parents for their decision to both have a gender reveal in the first place and to entrust their 4-year-old with a pair of scissors.

“It’s not the gender reveal you wanted, but it’s the one everyone deserves,” one person commented. “Baby said ‘mind yo biz,'” another added. “You gave a toddler scissors it’s on you,” others chimed in.

According to WTVR, the couple decided to have a second gender reveal, but they’re keeping this one – and the baby’s gender – a secret.
