Breast Cancer Support Center Hosts Think Pink Pajama Fundraiser

Almost 350 breast cancer survivors and their supporters gathered on Jan. 24, for the 4th Annual Pink Pajama Party, according to the Southtown Star. The fundraiser benefited the Breast Cancer Support Center at the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, Ill.

The women arrived at the event decked out in their best pink pajamas, robes, tutus and hats. The evening’s theme was Passion for the Cure and guests enjoyed the Passion Punch Rum TaTa signature cocktail, among other refreshments.

In the last three years, more than $80,000 was raised for the center, according to the source. This year’s funds are extra important because they will directly benefit the community.

“We have started a grant program where now all of the funds we bring in will now get out to the community,” Joanne Jager, head chair of the Pink Pajama Party fundraiser, told the source. “We’ll bring in Meals on Wheels for home deliveries, people that will shovel snow and cut grass, a lot for personal needs, we will be able to buy special undergarments and wigs and hats and scarves.”

The Little Company of Mary Hospital offers free services for breast cancer patients and survivors.
