Breast Cancer Survivor Develops Clothing LineThe Breast Cancer Site
After going through breast cancer treatment, there is no reason why women shouldn't feel their most beautiful. Laurel Kamen, a breast cancer survivor herself, thought this exact thing after undergoing treatment, so she designed a line of clothing that would help women look and feel fabulous.
"I looked out there for any kind of fashion for women with breast cancer and I couldn't find any. And so I joined with my co-founder and my cousin who's a dress designer. We decided to put the color back into women's lives with beautiful, colorful, happy clothes," Kamen told New York CBS affiliate WCBS.
The Alloro Collection features a beautiful line of feminine clothes and accessories in high-quality fabrics and colorful hues. The clothing doesn't just look great, but it's also designed specifically to meet the unique needs of women who have had breast cancer surgery, radiation or chemotherapy.
After having surgery, many women will struggle with lifting their arms to put on clothes, which is why many of the tops have front snaps. The clothing is designed with breathable, yet attractive, features that are intended for comfort.
Alloro also plays a role in the fight against the disease by donating 25 percent of its profits to support breast cancer research.
