Breast cancer survivors often want to celebrate their victory in a grand way, and Cali Wilson is no different. According to the Sevenoaks Chronicle, when the woman found out she was free of the disease she pledged to treasure every minute of her life. Now, the 51-year-old is preparing to take an 8,000-mile motorbike ride from Paris to Russia.
“It’s a personal journey – I want to show that being diagnosed with cancer doesn’t have to mean the end,” Wilson told the source.
Wilson is using the trip to raise money for Cancer Research United Kingdom, which helped her during her breast cancer journey. Additionally, she attributes her cancer-free status to a trial drug she was given.
The road trip is scheduled to begin on July 18 and Wilson will ride on a restored Royal Enfield Motorbike. The breast cancer survivor is a teaching assistant at Sevenoak’s West Heath School in the U.K., and some of the students are helping restore the bike. According to the source, Wilson is determined to take the ride, even in the midst of the ongoing political events in Russia.
