Chemo Beanies is a company that creates stylish slip-on head covers for women dealing with breast cancer treatment side effects. According to Metairie ABC affiliate WGNO, the company has been awarded a $250,000 grant from Chase Bank to further the business, which was founded by two breast cancer survivors.
Danielle Fournier and Angelle Albright launched Chemo Beanies in 2010. Both women had a difficult time finding wigs, hats or scarves that made them feel beautiful as well as comfortable during their own breast cancer journeys. In result, the sisters started the company together.
“It’s a large amount of money,” Albright told the source. “This money will transform Chemo Beanies into a real company. A company that will help women all over the world. Necessity is the mother of invention. Knowing how painful it can be to go through cancer, we want other women to not have to feel that pain.”
Chemo Beanies creates a variety of head scarf styles for breast cancer survivors. Each wrap carries a woman’s name, such as Shirley, Linda and Jacquelyn. The beanies are available in solid colors, prints and ruffles to fit a range of aesthetics.Whizzco
