Strangers Celebrate 50-Year-Old Woman’s Birthday Who Wasn’t Expected To Live So Long

The birth of a child is a very exciting event for the parent. The buildup and anticipation is something amazing, but there are times when things don’t go as expected.

This was seen in a rather interesting way 50 years ago when a little girl named Rema was born in South Carolina. When she was born, her doctors didn’t expect her to survive until her first birthday, according to WYFF.

Not only was Rema able to make it beyond her first birthday, she recently celebrated her 50th birthday! I guess this shows us that doctors don’t always know the outcome until it occurs.

That isn’t to say that the little girl didn’t have some problems. She had to undergo many surgeries, and it was 13 years before she could walk. Rema has cerebral palsy and several other issues.

When the day of her 50th birthday arrived, Rema was shocked by how many people showed up to express their support. They had a surprise party at a local restaurant in Greenville, and the restaurant staff was there to make everything perfect.

Patricia said that one of the workers even went to get his saxophone. While serenading her daughter, the owner sang happy birthday to her.

There was also something else that happened that was over the top. Rema’s mom, Patricia, said that somebody from a different group decided to pay for the entire meal for all eight of them.

She said: “I was almost in tears. With everything going on now, you just never know how much of an impact you can have on someone by doing something nice. An act of kindness means now today, more than it would’ve meant five years ago or 10 years ago.”

Patricia tried to find the woman on Facebook because she didn’t even know who she was. She just wanted to thank her for doing such a kind deed.
