Over the Years, She’s Gotten Many Follow-Up Calls — This One Changed Her Life

Your whole life can change with one phone call. That’s what Janet Tinney experienced in September 2015. Over the years, the Nebraskan native was called in for further testing and procedures following mammograms due to her having very dense breast tissue. Each follow-up produced the same good news: everything was benign. Then a call in September 2015 changed her life forever when she found out that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

In this video, Janet shares her emotional response to her diagnosis and how she found the strength to deal with her own battle through her experience with her father’s fight with cancer. After two rounds of chemotherapy, Janet’s tumor was gone, and she was quickly on the road to recovery. Now her son, Travis, is dong his part to combat cancer, raising money for cancer research with the #TravisTinneyHashtagMovement.
