What a way to go! This guy sure had an amazing send-off!
Patrons at an Irish pub paid tribute to one of their friends who had passed away by boisterously singing “Mr Brightside” by The Killers at his wake. At least, the pub version of a wake, that is. It’s probably good that they didn’t perform this boisterous routine in a church or funeral home.
Ger “Farmer” Foley, who is being remembered in such a spirited fashion, had died of cystic fibrosis at 45.
Ger’s friends celebrated his life in Falvey’s Bar in Killorglin, County Kerry when they broke into a concert-like rendition of the song that they said described him perfectly.
When I go, that’s the kind of party I want people to have! What song would you want people to sing in your memory?
I’m sure that “Farmer” Foley probably had a good chuckle at this! Have a chuckle yourself by watching this clip of the heartfelt pub performance. Please share!
