Two Denver sisters facing terminal illness experienced a dream come true when they traveled to La Jolla to ride the waves with a champion dog surfer named Ricochet, reports San Diego News. The dog has been trained to surf with disabled youngsters and wounded veterans. Teenagers Savannah and Bellamy Alterburn have been diagnosed with Friedreich’s ataxia, an inherited neuromuscular disorder, but they didn’t let their health condition stop them from pursuing a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
