As a former face of a Cancer Research UK ad campaign, Seema Jaya Sharma had breast cancer that she successfully beat three times with chemo therapy.
Unfortunately, when the cancer returned a fourth time, Seema’s body finally succumbed to the illness. Her spirit, however, did not.
“It’s just my body — my mind, my heart, my soul has beat you and it always will,” Seema proclaimed.
Choosing to make her death a celebration of her life, Seema was defiant to the end. She planned her own funeral and refused to accept sympathy or listen to others tell her how brave she was.
In her last days, she posted upbeat Facebook posts and video messages, which asked everyone not to mourn her death, but to celebrate her life.
