Many women who have lost their hair from chemotherapy find that they want something else to put on their heads while they’re waiting for their hair to grow back. Some prefer wigs. Others are fine with simple hats or headscarves. Still others like to change it up and wear something different every day.
But wigs and other head-coverings can be expensive, especially if you buy several different ones to go with different outfits or occasions. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a head covering you could easily make without spending any money? Well, we have good news for you.
In the video below, Sherry Gilderoy will teach you to make a headscarf that takes just a couple of minutes to do and can be made completely for free using items you already have around the house.
For this project, all you’ll need is an old shirt you’re not using that’s made out of a soft material and a decorative scarf. A scarf like the one Marcy, Sherry’s model, is wearing at the beginning of the video would be perfect. Wearing a cap on your head is optional, but it may help keep the headscarf from sliding around once it’s tied.
Sherry makes one cut across the shirt, quickly and simply ties it around Marcy’s head, and adds the headscarf to give a bit of depth and interest to the head-covering. Once you get the hang of it, tying this headscarf will take just seconds.
Take a look at the video to find out where to cut your shirt and how to tie it on your head. It’s so simple, and we guarantee you’re going to look fabulous!Whizzco
