Get Social: Breast Cancer Patients Benefit from Interaction

Do you love chatting with your friends and family? Turns out, a study published in the journal Breast Cancer Research and Treatment found that spending casual time with friends can ease pain and boost quality of life.

"This study provides research-based evidence that social support helps with physical symptoms," study author Candyce Kroenke, a scientist with the Kaiser Permanente division of research, said in a statement.

According to the study, in which more than 3,100 women who were diagnosed with breast cancer filled out a questionnaire, those who reported having a well-rounded social circle had a high quality of life. The women who didn't have much social interaction with others noted more physical symptoms and a lower quality of life.

The great thing about this study is that it proves that you can enjoy leisurely time with friends and family doing whatever you'd like. Whether you prefer to grab a cup of coffee at a local cafe, take a stroll around a nearby park or sit down for a relaxing dinner, getting out of the house for a bit can be beneficial for your health.
