The human body is truly amazing. Many of us don’t appreciate just how incredible it is. We’re still learning new things about it!
A picture surfaced on social media showing a woman’s milk ducts, and people were shocked when they saw what they look like underneath the skin.
Reactions varied quite a bit. Some thought the ducts looked pretty, almost like flowers.
Others were grossed out, which… is bizarre. A woman’s milk ducts help feed her babies, and provide them with uniquely tailored nourishment and antibodies that change as her babies grow. What’s gross about that?
Whatever their feelings were when looking at the image, the main sentiment people seemed to share was shock. People had no idea that this is what a woman’s breasts look like on the inside.
Several people blamed health classes in school for letting them down.
Days after it was posted on Twitter, the tweet had gathered over 140,000 likes and 50,000 shares. Clearly people were fascinated and surprised at what milk ducts look like.
The image was posted by @lemonadead, and she was floored by the attention her post received — and also that others found the image pretty.
Another person added: “We aren’t supposed to see this. We weren’t supposed to know. No one is here for these flesh flowers.”
Others felt disappointed that they didn’t learn about this when they were growing up, as one pointed out: “Like omg how interesting. So much stuff just clicked. I’m kinda irritated this wasn’t something we learned in health class tbh.”
Another embraced it, asking: “Why is everyone saying it’s gross? We have literal flowers on our titties, that’s so cool.”
“The human body is amazing. God knew what he was doing!!!” said another person.
One man encouraged women to love themselves: “I hate to get deep on a post but if you think about it God made us from earth. We resemble nature through our anatomy if that makes sense. Lol. Our veins and arteries looks like roots on a tree.
“The spine is the trunk of the tree & the brain is the top of the trees where the branches stretch far and wide. Every beautiful tree has its flowers (the nipple).”
That’s one way of looking at it!
