Little Girl Can’t Stop Smiling And Pointing At Her “New Mommy” After Being Adopted

An adorable preschooler is going viral on TikTok for her performance in a school play.

While it’s safe to say that most preschool plays are incredibly cute, this particular performance was extra special.

You see, foster mom Genevieve Taversy (TikTok user @foster_into_motion), recently adopted a young girl. Adoption can be emotional and complicated, but it’s all worth it when a family is able to come together for the better.

Shortly after adopting her baby girl, Genevieve attended one of her preschool performances and filmed the whole thing.

In the video, you can see a group of preschoolers lined up in costumes. They’re singing a song, but Genevieve’s daughter isn’t focused on the task at hand. Instead, she’s fixated on her mom!

She can’t take her eyes off her mom and repeatedly says, “My mommy,” while pointing in her direction.

Genevieve uploaded the video on TikTok and wrote in the clip: “This video was taken shortly after adopting my baby girl. Instead of singing, she kept pointing at me saying, ‘My Mommy’. So grateful I captured this beautiful moment.”

It wasn’t long before the video went viral. Millions of people were touched by the sweet moment, and many wanted to know how they could get in on fostering and adopting children. Of course, some people were quick to point out that while the moment was incredibly precious, the children’s outfits were inappropriate at best.

“do they still have them wear this stuff in school? honest question. or is this an old video?” one person commented. “this is very sweet and super lovely my question is, I thought they stopped doing activities like this years ago….” another added.

As the Washington Post pointed out back in 2018, there are ways to teach about and celebrate different cultures without perpetuating stereotypes and being offensive.
