John Cena Sets World Record For Granting The Most Make-A-Wish Requests

John Cena is a wrestling icon, but he’s also a man of many talents. He’s shown he’s got some acting chops, and has even dabbled in a brief rap career.

But recently, he’s set a new world record for something bigger than any of that. He’s now set the world record for most wishes granted through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. His total is 650.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps grant the wishes of children living with serious and often life-threatening illnesses. Cena first granted a wish back in 2002, only three years following the beginning of his professional wrestling career. And he’s been doing that ever since.

According to a press release by the Guinness World Records, Cena is the most requested celebrity that kids ask to meet. And Cena is more than happy to oblige.

According to Today, Cena told Reuters, “If you ever need me for this ever, I don’t care what I’m doing, I will drop what I’m doing and be involved because I think that’s the coolest thing.”

Cena added, “If I can offer a fantastic experience, I”l be the first in line to do my part.”

His work with the foundation has been ongoing throughout the years. Back in 2012, Cena was the one to fulfill the foundation’s 1,000th request by meeting with a fan named Cardon.

Then, in 2015, Cena became the first celebrity to grant 500 wishes. And he hasn’t slowed down.

Besides being involved in the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Cena has also been a very vocal part of the WWE’s “Be a Star” anti-bullying campaign, which is a program that fosters young peoples’ sense of kindness towards others, teaching them to treat others around them with tolerance and respect. This is often done through education programs and other grassroots initiatives.
