This 6-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Gives an Adorable Speech at Her Father’s Wedding
Leah Still reached media fame after her father, Devon Still, started snapping photos of the pair during her battle with cancer. (Still is currently a defensive end for the Houston Texans.) Leah was four when she was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma in June of 2014. We posted previously about her story here. Her treatments ran the gamut, from surgery to remove the tumor, to chemo and radiation. They even tried stem cell transplants until she was given the news that her cancer was in remission.
The now six-year-old is in the spotlight again after lighting up the room at her father’s wedding to his longtime fiancee, Asha Joyce, on May 13, 2016, at the New York Public Library. Leah served as their flower girl, gave a short and sweet speech to the newlyweds at the reception, and then danced with her dad and new stepmom on the dance floor. We’ve snagged a couple of the highlights from Instagram:
“Thank you for everybody supporting me, and I love my new family,” Leah says in this video. “Now, let’s party!”
In this video, Leah joins Asha and her dad for their first dance.
