Behind every breast cancer fighter is a team of amazing doctors and nurses committed to helping them win their battle.
Florence SeeSee Rigney has seen plenty of patients in her time through their ups and downs. This May, SeeSee celebrated her 90th birthday with her coworkers as Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, WA and nearly seven decades of nursing. As the United States’ oldest working nurse, she was honored by family, coworkers, and even the state Governor Jay Inslee in a letter of recognition.
SeeSee retired for five months when she was 67, but there was no keeping her away from the nurse’s ward and the patients who needed her. At 90, she still works two days a week and has been an inspiration to the generations of younger nurses who have worked with her.
Happy birthday, SeeSee! We hope to be just like you when we’re 90, too!
