Strangers Gift Bartender And Single Mom A $4000 Tip

One of the things that’s discussed perhaps more often about the service industry than anything else is the subject of tipping.

There are people who have varying opinions on the subject, but those who work in the industry realize it is a vital part of their ability to make it from one day to the next.

This includes a bartender, who works at Chances Dance Hall in Cleburne. Chelsea Bell Lantrip was busy taking care of her shift at the dance hall when something completely unexpected happened.

In speaking with NBC News, she said that it was a fairly regular day. There were two girls that she described as “random girls” who came into the bar along with the regulars that were there almost every day.

The girls must’ve been feeling fairly good because they ordered everyone a round of drinks at the dance hall. If that wasn’t generous enough, Bell noticed that the girl had tipped her $1000. Considering the fact that it was only a $179 tab, it was very generous.

After Bell started crying because of the generosity, the girl then exclaimed that it was not good enough. That is when she raised the tip to $2000.

Later, Bell went over to get the receipt and saw that the woman had left a $4000 tip. She said: “I didn’t believe it until it went through the credit card machine, I still didn’t believe it until it hit the bank.”

This was really a shot in the arm for Bell, who needed some money to help her son. He is attending Texas A&M in the fall, which comes with a significant price tag as far as school costs are concerned. She is also going to take her aunt and grandmother out for a nice dinner and pay off a few bills.

In the end, she claimed that these two strangers were a gift. In her words: “She is a gift from God. I believe in guardian angels, I believe in people coming into your life at the right time that you need them. And she was definitely one of them.”
