Young Boy Gets Bullied But A Kind Classmate Brings Him A Special Gift

One of the most difficult things that many of us have to go through in life is being bullied. Sometimes it happens when we are young but the stress of being bullied can last for the rest of our lives.

Perhaps this is seen more in middle school than at any other time of our lives, so when we hear something good happening between two 7th graders as a result of bullying, it really takes us by surprise.

According to FOX News, Melvin Anderson was going through what far too many children have to go through. He went to school with some worn-out shoes and some other children decided to bully him over it.

This is something that is played out in schools across America, but someone was watching in this particular case and that person had a kind heart. It was Romello “Melo” Early, and when he saw his classmate being picked on, he didn’t just stand by, he got involved.

When Romello got home, he talked to his mother to see if they could buy some new shoes for Melvin. His mother agreed, and he brought them to school the next day to give them to the youngster.

A story like this really needs to be shared with others, and fortunately, the Dean of Buffalo Creek Academy went on Facebook to make sure that more people knew about this act of kindness.

Bryant Brown, Jr. wrote: “My student Melo told me he was tired of other students picking on Melvin about his shoes. Melo used his allowance and bought Melvin some shoes. This is what I live for, be that helping hand.”

In speaking with a local news station, Romello said that he knew something was bothering Melvin, and it pained him to see someone going through this difficulty. He was upset that Melvin was being picked on because of the way he looked.

Romello had already been saving up his allowance so he used his own money with his mother’s permission to purchase Melvin shoes at the shoe store. He brought them to school the next day.

Melvin also spoke out about the situation, saying: “I’m really appreciative of what he did for me. I’m doing chores at home so I can earn some money to try and pay him back for what…what he did for me.”

When Romello’s mother spoke with Fox News, she admitted that this is not something that you see very often. She then spoke about her son, saying: “To be so passionate at 12 years old really says a lot, but Romello is passionate in all aspects of his life family, basketball and friends.”

We really need more of this in the world today.
