They’re the people we think of as invincible – all the money, the fame, the influence, and, in the case of one Taylor Swift, the genuine niceness as a person. Whether for movies, music or sports, celebrities are icons, inspirations for thousands of kids and aspirations for thousands of up-and-coming talent. Much as we might like to think otherwise, though, celebrities are not immune from the trials of life, and no matter who you are, cancer doesn’t care. It attacks all equally. Says Swift in a post on her Tumblr:
I’m saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer. I’d like to keep the details of her condition and treatment plans private, but she wanted you to know.
This is the star’s best friend, and she and her mom have a very specific reason for you to get checked:
…parents may be too busy juggling everything they’ve got going on to go to the doctor, and maybe you reminding them to go get checked for cancer could possibly lead to an early diagnosis and an easier battle… Or peace of mind in knowing that they’re healthy and there’s nothing to worry about. She wanted you to know why she may not be at as many shows this tour. She’s got an important battle to fight.
Cancer doesn’t care if you’re rich, poor, famous, young, old or anything else. It can affect anyone. Get checked, and click below to help mothers facing the crisis of breast cancer. Because the world needs more people who can dance and sing the difficulties away, like Taylor. We at the Breast Cancer Site wish the Swift family and everyone facing this battle the very best.Whizzco
