Tim Tebow is a household name across the United States, but he’s not just known for football. He’s known for spreading kindness and actively working to make the world a better place.

Back in 2017, Tebow shared about his visit to Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Florida after Hurricane Irma whipped through the area.

His whole purpose in going was to visit hurricane evacuees and uplift them, but he didn’t realize that the evacuees would do some uplifting of their own.

While at a special needs shelter for victims of the hurricane, Tebow met a World War II veteran and was moved by the man’s “spirit” and talents.”

The veteran even pulled out a harmonica and did an impromptu performance!

Tebow tweeted: “Totally uplifted by this #ww2 veteran, who’s spirit and talents encouraged his fellow visitors at this Special Needs Shelter! #irma”

The tweet impacted thousands of people, and many were inspired by Tim’s kindness in going to the shelters.

According to PEOPLE, Tebow refers to being kind as “life-changing” and he says he always tries to “live a lifestyle that is full of kindness.”

Speaking with News4Jax, he said:

“There’s a lot of things they are dealing with — a lot of worry, a lot of doubt, a lot of unknown. But if there’s a chance just to brighten their day, put a smile on their face or letting them not worry about their problems for a couple of seconds or minutes, it’s worth it. You can’t promise them you’re going to make things better, but you can promise you’ll stand side-by-side them when they go through it.”
