8-year-old Nate Gonzalez may be little, but he has a huge heart.
His only wish this Christmas is that other people can have a Merry Christmas and a great life. That’s why he’s working hard to bring smiles to other kids’ faces just in time for the holidays.
Last year, he wanted to help kids so badly, that he was willing to donate his own Christmas gifts to them.
But instead, he has been collecting toys since last year to give to kids who are less fortunate. He was able to get 300 toys, which were all donated to CASA of the Coastal Bend, a nonprofit that advocates for children in foster care.
All of the toys, which Nate collected through his community, will be gifted to the children who are in foster care.
Samantha Koepp-Stemplinger, Recruitment and Marketing Manager for CASA of the Coastal Bend, is very grateful to Nate for his generosity, but said it isn’t just about the toys.
“So, with gifts that come from the community that are spearheaded by this wonderful 8-year-old, it brings a message to these children that there’s people out there who will never meet me, who don’t know me, but they care enough to purchase something for me to share a bit of their holiday season with me,” she told KIIITV.
Nate plans to continue his efforts every year so that he can keep making these children happy. His initiative is now called “Nate’s Next Kid Up.”
