Hoda Kotb, cohost of the Today Show, is a breast cancer survivor. Music was an integral part of her healing process, and in 2014, she wanted to do plan something special during the month of October to raise money for others going through cancer: specifically, pediatric cancer. You see, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but it’s also National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
So Hoda reached out to superstars Sara Bareilles and Cyndi Lauper to see if they would help. Lauper is the voice behind the hit class “True Colors” and Bareilles is the voice behind the pop hit “Brave.” They decided to mash together their hit songs to create a new song, “Truly Brave.”
The song is absolutely stunning, and will resonate with survivors and supporters and fighters alike. The music video features cancer patients from The Children’s Hospital Of Philadelphia, and while the video starts off on a somber note, soon the children are escaping from hospital rooms to have a little fun…
Their sweet faces will make you smile and tear up simultaneously. Take a look at this inspirational video!Whizzco
