Wine Club Donates Proceeds to Breast Cancer Research
Cellar Angels is a socially conscious wine club that sells products to raise money for a variety of charities. Members of the club can order their favorite wines from Cellar Angels knowing that a portion of the proceeds will benefit someone in need. For years, Cellar Angels has supported the V Foundation, a nonprofit devoted to cancer research, and now it will be aiding the Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Foundation as well.
Cellar Angels announced on Twitter on March 27 that it would sell Truchard Vineyards 2012 Pinot Noir to raise money for the foundation. Cellar Angels members have until March 30 to purchase the wine online before the fundraising effort ends. Truchard describes the wine’s flavor profile as containing notes of rhubarb, strawberry and cherry along with small hints of citrus blossom, tea and earth. It has a jammy texture and spicy finish.
Edith Sanford died in 1940 of breast cancer, sparking a passion in her son Denny. He went on to create the foundation bearing her name, which officially launched in 2012. Now the Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Foundation raises money to fund research that may hopefully cure the disease. The foundation partners with integrated health system Sanford Health.
