Being diagnosed with breast cancer can be scary and battling the disease may drain you of your energy and optimism about what life may be like after cancer. While you are going through treatments, the physical and emotional toll that the cancer has taken on your body may make it seem difficult to imagine ever feeling healthy and well again. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. A recent Canadian study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology found that women whose cancer does not return usually have as high a quality of life as women who never had the disease to begin with.
The researchers evaluated the quality of life of a group of 285 breast cancer survivors against that of a group of 161 healthy women based on their answers to questions that included a variety of topics, such as fatigue, moodiness, social functioning and sexual relationships. So even though battling cancer may be tough, remember that there is hope for a normal life after it goes into remission. You can look forward to being happy, healthy and energetic once again!Whizzco
